Dave Lillie
Dave Lillie joined the Anchor Team in September of 2019 as a Service Delivery Operations Engineer and although that is still part of his title, he has now joined the ranks of our Network Administrators. Dave has a friendly demeanor and his big laugh echoes through the office! Considering our crew of Net Admins, there are plenty of reasons to laugh, they’re a fun bunch!
Dave says, “It’s nice coming to work. Everyone is nice and fun to work with”. He continued, “The clients are good to work with and it’s challenging to get to know the different vast and interesting environments”. When I asked him how he got into IT, he said his Dad told him he didn’t want him doing manual labor. It turns out his father was in construction for 35 years and hated it! Dave says for him, technology just works.
Realizing he needed a “change of lifestyle from cornfields and soy fields”, Dave moved to Colorado from just outside Chicago. He had vacationed out here and liked the weather, mountains, and all things the Colorado outdoors has to offer. Dave enjoys skiing, mountain biking, golfing and went on to say, “get me outside and I’ll do it!” He’s always looking for new hobbies to pick up.
Although he adamantly refuses to return to Chicago even to visit, his 10-year-old Goldendoodle, Cubbie, is evidence that not all Chicago roots are severed as he’s named for Dave’s favorite baseball team! Cubbie is Dave’s hiking companion, but I’m told he enjoys the car rides but not the walking, he walks only to get to the car!
Health and fitness are passions for Dave and back in May he acquired his Personal Training Certification! Now he’s working toward a Nutrition Certification through the National Academy of Sports & Nutrition. His coaching style is geared toward understanding what his client is looking to gain. He explained, “if someone says I want to stop Pringles, how do I do it? I say ok, let’s work on what you need.” He sounds like a great coach to me!

Q: What is your hidden talent?
A: Hidden talents are useless!
Q: Who inspires you?
A: If you can’t inspire yourself then what’s the point?
Q: Do you have a personal philosophy?
A: Don’t (bad word) up, just do it.
Q: What is your favorite animal?
A: Penguins! They’re mischievous, smart, creative animals and they will mess you up if you mess with them! I love the Happy Feet movie, it’s one of the best movies ever made and I don’t care what anyone says.
Q: Do you have a guilty pleasure?
A: You already know! (He said that because I must guard Peanut butter and Peanut butter filled pretzels in my office to protect him from himself)
Q: Tell us something we don’t know about you!
A: I don’t know, I’m boring! Well, I have a few plates and screws in me….how’s that?
Q: If you could do another job for a day, what would it be?
A: Astronaut! There is so much more to explore than what is on this earth. It would be a one-way trip though. Why come back?!
Q: What is your favorite meal?
A: Chicken Fettucine Alfredo …..with a little bit of pesto!
