James moved his family from New Jersey to take a job as a Network Administrator with Anchor in November of 2015. He began his career in the financial world working primarily in Retirement Plans and Education, then discovered his enthusiasm for IT and thanks to that career change we enjoy the pleasure of having James as an Anchor family member. He brings a sense of humor and energy to his job and we all benefit from both his intelligence and silliness!

James says he likes working for Anchor because of the diversity of our clientele as well as the ability to travel around the Metro area rather than going to the same office every day.

James has been married to his wife, Erica, “forever”. I reminded him at this point that Erica is likely to see this article on Facebook, but he stood by his answer! They have actually been married for 10 years and have 3 beautiful children; 2 boys and 1 girl. Their canine family member is a 14 year old deaf Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Gisela! She is as pretty as her name would suggest!

By virtue of James’s passion for learning and reading, he has many certifications. In addition to a variety of Microsoft certs, he also maintains his CCNA and CCDA.

When he’s not fixing high level issues for our clients he enjoys cruising around the western states on his motorcycle, flying his drones, hiking and as mentioned….he reads a lot!

Here is some Q & A fun with James:

Q: Tell us something we don’t know about you!
A: I did gymnastics for 8 to 10 years in my childhood. I can still walk on my hands. (for the record, he immediately popped up, went into the hallway outside my office and demonstrated this!) I was also on swim team for a local club in the summers of my High School years.

Q: Considering you are such an avid reader, I am curious if you have a favorite book?
A: The Hobbit. Since I was a kid, maybe age 10, I’ve read it once a year.

Q: If you could do another job for a day, what would it be?
A: A Pilot. (if you know James, you already knew that answer)

Q: Do you have a guilty pleasure?
A: Ice cream. I can easily down a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Tonight Dough!

Q: How about a favorite movie?
A: So I Married an Axe Murderer.

Q: Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
A: Islands, I love going to Islands, it’s the only thing that feels like a real vacation to me. I love Jamaica and St. Marten.

Q: Do you have a favorite musician or best concert?
A: The best concert I’ve ever seen was Dave Matthews at what was then the Meadowlands Arena. They came out to do their encore, Two Step, in the pouring rain. I think that performance ended up on one of their live albums.

Q: If you could have your favorite meal, what would that be?
A: Erica makes these pork chops that we all just love. She was pregnant waiting in her Doctor’s office and found the recipe in a magazine then started making it.
