Located at 18 South Wilcox Street, Suite 100, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104 (See Google Maps), White Construction Group is an innovative, fast growing general commercial construction company, White Construction Group has the expertise to manage, build, and deliver projects per our clients' standards and expectations. We specialize in commercial construction, design-build, historic restoration and tenant improvement projects largely in the Colorado area.

We thank Lyssa Franckowiak, Chief Administration Officer, of White Construction Group for the goofy photo, taken by her 5 year old daughter Neva and her responses and to the following questions:

Q. What brought you to your current role with White Construction Group?

LF: I started working at White Construction Group in February 2007 after working for a small hedge fund in the Denver Tech Center for 5 years. I worked on the operational side of things at the hedge fund and have a similar role here at WCG as the Chief Administrative Officer. I definitely wear many different hats from being the President’s assistant, to fleet renewals, cell phone management, one of our Anchor ‘liaisons’ and run our company benefits program.

Q. What are some of the daily business challenges you face?

LF: One of the biggest challenges I personally face is having enough time in the day!

Q. As a leading provider of a range of traditional, design-build and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a variety of markets, including fossil and renewable energy power, petrochemical, pharmaceutical as well as state and federal infrastructure, what makes White Construction Group stand out from the rest of the competition?

LF: Unlike many of our competitors, White Construction Group is capable of “cradle to grave” construction delivery, often times taking on traditional project development services such as land entitlement, real-estate acquisition and assisting with securing construction and permanent financing. For projects, we believe in that may be lacking just the right financial mix to attract competition from lenders, we are not adverse putting our own skin in the game with an ownership position to move good projects from the drawing board to the marketplace.

Q. What’s an ideal client for White Construction Group?

LF: Ideal clients for us are folks with real needs that niche player like ourselves can fill. Clients with difficult problems are where we shine. Let’s face it if you need a quality big-box store built on-time and in-budget, the commercial construction world can be commodity market. Seeking to break this mold, White Construction Group excels at delivering truly customized services and individually tailored solutions to the construction marketplace.

Q. What do you do when you aren't working?

LF: When I’m not working, my husband and I keep very busy running around after our 5 year old daughter & 2 year old son.

Q. Why the relationship with Anchor is crucial in the running of your day-to-day business?

LF: Our relationship w/ Anchor is crucial in the aspect that we as a business rely on their expertise in making our team communication flow properly with the ever changing technologies out there. We operate with an office and field team in which many architectural drawings/plans, photos & contracts exchange hands instantly in order for budgets to be maintained efficiently in order for timelines to be met and projects delivered as expected to their full potential.

Now it’s your turn to ask Anchor a question:

LF: What is the best spyware and/or virus remover type software out there in your opinion and why is it that Mac doesn’t seem to have problems with viruses like PCs do?

VT: There are many different antivirus programs available and they all do a reasonable job of protecting your system. Sometimes it’s hard to choose as the vendor’s business product may be better than their consumer product or vice versa. Further, while one product may be slightly better than others this year, another may make improvements and be the leader next year. As a result, what we look for in an antivirus product is consistency. We include Trend Micro in our offering because year after year it provides the most consistent results. Sure some years Symantec or AVG might be better, but the difference is marginal and Trend Micro has the best consistency while others may go up and down.

In terms of Macs and why they don’t get viruses, there are many schools of thought out there. One is that Mac users are in the minority. So if you are a virus writer and 75% of all users are pc based, and 25% are Mac based, which are you going to try and attack? Another school of thought is that Apple holds its code base very close to the vest and therefore hackers can’t gain access to it. In all actuality, it’s probably a little bit of both!
